Tetris DX is a classic puzzle game for the Nintendo Game Boy Color. Developed by Bullet Proof Software and published by Nintendo, Tetris DX was released in 1998 as part of the Game Boy Color’s library of titles. The game combines classic Tetris gameplay with new levels and features that make it one of the best puzzle games on the Game Boy Color.

Tetris DX is a remake of the original 1984 Tetris game, but with improved graphics, sound, and gameplay elements. The objective remains the same; players must rotate and drop different shapes (called “tetrominoes”) into an ever-growing stack so that they form complete lines without gaps. When a line is formed, it disappears and any blocks above it move down. If the stack reaches the top of the screen, then it’s game over. As with most versions of Tetris, clearing multiple lines at once gives bonus points.

The Game Boy Color version of Tetris DX features several new modes to keep things interesting. There’s Marathon mode where players have to clear 150 lines as quickly as possible; Ultra mode which tests your ability to clear 40 lines in under two minutes; and 40 Line mode which tasks you with clearing 40 lines in three minutes or less. There are also five different difficulty levels ranging from Easy to Expert which can be used to customize your experience for any skill level. For those who want even more challenge, there’s also Time Trial mode where players compete against their own best times as well as other players via a link cable connection between two Game Boy Colors.

Tetris DX also includes some additional features that weren’t present in earlier versions of Tetris such as save states which allow you to pause and resume play at any time, adjustable music volume levels, and customizable backgrounds for each level type. It also has multiplayer support so two people can play against each other using two separate Game Boy Colors connected via link cable or infrared wireless communication (though this feature isn’t available on all versions).

Overall, Tetris DX is an excellent puzzle game for the Game Boy Color that offers hours of entertainment and challenging gameplay for gamers of all skill levels—from beginners to experts alike. The various modes make it great for quick pick up-and-play sessions or longer gaming marathons while its colorful visuals and catchy tunes add extra charm that makes it stand out from other titles on Nintendo’s handheld console. If you haven’t already played this classic puzzler, then now is definitely the time to do so!
