Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance is a game of futuristic sports that combines elements of soccer, handball and hockey in a fast-paced, action-packed competition. It was developed by The Bitmap Brothers and published by Empire Interactive in 2004. The game is based on the classic 1989 computer game Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe which was released for the Amiga, Atari ST, Acorn Archimedes, MS-DOS and other platforms.

The objective of Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe is to win matches against opposing teams by scoring more points than them. In order to do this, players must use their team’s special abilities and tactics to outmaneuver their opponents while preventing them from scoring. Each team has nine players with different stats such as speed, strength and accuracy which can be improved through training and upgrades throughout the game. Players can also purchase new weapons and equipment to give themselves an edge during matches.

The game features several different modes including single player tournaments, multi-player tournaments (both local or over a link cable) as well as a practice mode where players can hone their skills before taking on other teams. The tournament mode consists of five leagues with each league offering its own unique challenges and rewards such as extra credits or even promotional items like posters or autographs from famous players. In addition to the tournament mode there is also an exhibition mode where up to four players can face off against each other in a single match.

Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe has received generally positive reviews from critics who praised its intense action, fast pace and deep gameplay mechanics that provide plenty of depth for experienced gamers while still being accessible enough for newcomers. Despite being almost two decades old at the time of its release it still manages to hold up well due to its timeless visuals and addictive gameplay that will keep you coming back for more.

Overall Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe is an excellent sports title that offers hours upon hours of entertainment whether you’re playing solo or with friends over a link cable connection. It’s easy enough for anyone to pick up but still offers plenty of depth for those looking for something more challenging than your average sports game. With its intense action, great visuals and deep gameplay mechanics it’s no wonder why this classic has been given new life on the Game Boy Advance platform all these years later!
