Mother 3 is an RPG video game developed by Nintendo and HAL Laboratories for the Game Boy Advance handheld console.
It was released in Japan on April 20, 2006, and was never officially released outside of Japan.
However, it has been fan-translated into English and other languages.
The game is the third installment in the Mother series, following EarthBound (also known as Mother 2) which was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994.
Mother 3 follows Lucas, a young boy living on Tazmily Island with his family.
When a mysterious army invades his home island, Lucas must join forces with his brother Claus and their friends to save the island from destruction.
Along their journey they must battle strange creatures while also uncovering secrets about their pasts and the island itself.
The gameplay of Mother 3 is similar to that of its predecessor, EarthBound; however there have been some changes made to improve upon it.
Players control a party of up to four characters which they can switch between at any time during battle.
Battles are turn-based with enemies visible on screen prior to engagement.
A new addition to this installment is the ability to equip weapons and items to each character which can give them special abilities or stat boosts during battle.
In addition to battling monsters and exploring dungeons, players can also engage in various activities such as fishing, cooking meals, digging up fossils, playing mini-games, shopping at stores and talking with NPCs (non-player characters).
These activities are used for progressing through the story as well as providing useful items for use in battle or selling them for money.
Mother 3 features an emotional soundtrack composed by Shogo Sakai that ranges from upbeat melodies to somber tunes depending on what’s happening on screen at the time; it helps bring out certain emotions from players while delving deeper into its depressing story line.
The visuals are colorful yet simplistic cartoonish sprites set against detailed backgrounds that help bring out the atmosphere of each location visited throughout your adventure; it's all very pleasing on the eyes! Overall Mother 3 is a fantastic RPG experience filled with memorable characters and an engaging storyline sure to keep players hooked until its conclusion! While it has never officially been released outside of Japan due to several legal issues surrounding its development; there are multiple fan translations available online so anyone interested in experiencing this classic should not hesitate any longer!
