Mario Tennis Advance: Power Tour for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance is an exciting tennis game that combines elements of both sports and adventure. It was developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo in 2005. The game follows protagonist Prince Roland, who has come to the prestigious Royal Tennis Academy on Power Island to become a professional tennis player. As he progresses through the game, Roland will meet new friends, improve his skills, and eventually enter the Power Tour Grand Prix tournament to prove himself as a champion.
Mario Tennis Advance: Power Tour offers both single-player and multiplayer options. In single-player mode, players can choose from four different characters – Prince Roland, Mimi, Kiki and Leo – each with their own unique stats and abilities. Players must complete various training exercises in order to raise their stats and unlock new courts. After completing all of the training exercises for a given character, they will be able to compete in tournaments against computer-controlled opponents or other human players using the Game Link Cable.
The multiplayer mode is where Mario Tennis Advance: Power Tour really shines. Up to four players can play against each other in matches on any of the unlocked courts using a Game Link Cable connection. There are also several mini-games available which can be played with up to four players at once. These include target practice, where players must hit targets placed around the court; speed serve challenge; and king of court, a variation on standard tennis rules where each point scored gives you ownership of the court until another player takes it away from you with their own point.
In addition to its regular gameplay modes, Mario Tennis Advance: Power Tour also features an extensive story mode called “Power Tour” in which players take control of Prince Roland as he goes through his training at the academy before competing in tournaments around the island for fame and fortune. Along the way he will make friends with other students at the academy such as Mimi and Kiki as well as rivals like Leo who continually challenge him throughout his journey. As they progress through story mode, players will unlock new courts as well as special items such as rackets which can give them an edge over their opponents during matches or increase their stats when used in training exercises.
Overall, Mario Tennis Advance: Power Tour is an excellent game for anyone looking for an entertaining blend of sports and adventure gaming on their Game Boy Advance system. With its engaging story mode full of interesting characters and plenty of challenging gameplay options both online or off, it offers hours upon hours of entertainment that any fan of tennis will appreciate playing again and again!
